About the athlete

Kelly Simm

Team GB Gymnast

Kelly grew up in the south of England and tried her hand at lots of different sports. One day, while she was on a trampoline, she noticed the gymnasts. Aged 6, she decided to give it a go and has built an entire career while at that same gymnastics club. Kelly was selected for the GB team aged 16 and has been a member for over 10 years. She has won medals at four Commonwealth Games, including team gold at her international debut in Glasgow in 2015. Other major achievements include being the first British gymnast to win the individual all-around World University Games in 2015, winning a total of three medals in the the Games, being British All Around Champion in 2018, and winning a World Championship team bronze medal – a record which remains the only time in history the Great Britain team have won a world medal!
